Last weekend was ANZAC Day… and not only did we remembers those who fought for this country in centuries gone, a group of us from the Marketplace Church went camping and it was FUN!

I discovered my body doesn’t really like sleeping on the ground… so i wasn’t up for the 2 or 4 hour hikes… but i did checkout the lookouts and take my camera to document it!

Here is what I saw!

where have I been?

This question may have crossed your mind a bit lately… I am indeed alive! I’m also busy with a lot happening in the past few weeks! I shot a national Netball Comp over 8 days at the end of September (North Americans… it’s hard to explain… so click here if you want to know more!) and have been busy sorting through orders and getting prints printed before my departure this Saturday. I’m heading back to England for a few weeks of rest and relaxation and catching up with friends, a wedding and a baby arrival (hopefully before I leave!). I’m looking forward to exploring and capturing life as it unfolds before me. I only have a few set plans, and aside from that… i’m in God’s hands! who knows what will unfold! I’ll do my best to keep the blog updated…

Right now, I’m busy packing and trying to get my head around the next few weeks and months of my life… meanwhile I’ll leave you with a picture I don’t think I ever posted on the blog. Was taken a few months ago out on the Grange Jetty at probably around midnight maybe later!

I spent the most part of the first 10 yrs of my life living a small country town 3.5 hrs drive from the nearest city (Adelaide)… and though i hated it when my family were uprooted and moved to the city at age 10 because of my Dad’s work… I’ve come to appreciate City livin. However This past week i spent 4 days back in the country near where I grew up. This trip, I was going back as a 26yr old and I kept thinking to myself… I LOVE the country! It’s Beautiful!! Now, it does help that it’s spring and the paddocks are GREEN and the skies are BLUE and the clouds were white a puffy (the days they were out). I was having a field day!!

So here are a few from my days away…

The first 4 images (and last image) are at the Bluff Beach where i spent most of my summer holidays growing up…

I really took this pic for the colours and the moon in the bush!

The morning light on the day i took a day trip down the “bottom end” I had to stop and take these few… i love this one (above)

Non Aussies may not know what this shot is of aside from the obvious bushes! But i had to stop and wait for a family of Emus to cross the road as I entered the National Park and this was the best shot I could get before they disappeared into the thick scrub.

Stenhouse Bay

Island called Chinamans Hat

What’s left of the 1904 shipwreck “Ethel” hit a reef and ran ashore.

Ok… so one of my jobs is driving a small School bus for international kids here in in Adelaide… and right now we’re in the middle of a 2 week break between terms 3&4… and while last week i did VERY little with my time… this week coming up will be somewhat busy! Monday is a Public Holiday (most stores are closed etc) Tuesday i head over to the Yorke Peninsula to a little town called Minlaton. This town is where my Dad grew up and where my Nan still lives. Tuesday also marks 1 yr since my Pa (grandpa) passed away. About 3 months ago i promised to build a gate (yes i am a handy-girl) for my Nan… so Tuesday afternoon i should manage to get that done… Wednesday is a day for the towns annual Show/Fair… then Thursday is my day to Adventure out and explore the YP! I grew up in the country, spending the most part of my first 10 yrs on the Yorke Peninsula so there are places i’ve not been for MANY years, and maybe even places i’ve never seen. So Thursday is MY day to do it. My camera will be going with me of course, and i intend to take lots of pics, so with any luck, i’ll be posting some when i return. I also get to stay in a lovely two storey Holiday house overlooking the ocean… the weather better behave itself!!

Stay tuned for more!!

PS. I wont have internet… so don’t expect updates until after friday! cheers!!

the map below is a bit of an idea what i’ll be doing… the red line is about 3 hrs one way… i go over Tues morning, come home friday morning. in the top left of the image… that is what my state looks like as a whole and is located in the central lower part of Australia for anyone not in AUS who hasn’t a clue where Adelaide is… :)
